A Weekend With Shelly & Sydney!

The fellas all went fishing... James, Jan (my brother-in-law), Alex (my step-brother), and dad. As we have discovered before... "catching" and "fishing" are two different sports... and though the guys had fun over the weekend... they only "fished!" Meanwhile... Shelly & Sydney came to visit for the weekend (my sister & niece)! We had a very nice weekend... playing at the pool... playing on the water slide... and relaxing at the house! Jacob held his own, being the only boy!

When we lived in NC, we were two houses down from the Wheeler family. Their first child, Emma, is 2 months older than Jaycie. Needless to say... they were best buddies since birth. They had their first playdates with each other... they started preschool together... they could conquer the world together! We are so thankful for their friendship... both of our families have been through times when we have had to rely on each other... and they have been such a blessing to our family... we miss them SO VERY MUCH! Since we moved, they have had 2 more sweet babies.... Matthew & Nora. It was so nice to spend the day with them at the NC zoo!!!!! The kids all did wonderful and had a blast!

Special May Days!

May is always a busy time of year with end of school activities... including field days, field trips & parties... all x 4. We celebrated many special May days... here are a few:

Mother's Day - We took a few quick photos before church, enjoyed lunch with friends, and I took an afternoon nap while James and the kids planted my new weeping willow! It was an awesome day!

Awards day... we are SO SO SO proud of our girls! They have worked so hard this year! Jessica received an award for Straight A's All Year, she received the State Superintendent Writing Award for her class, and she had the highest AR/RR points in her class. (Unfortunately, Jessica's school didn't have an awards ceremony for parents to attend, so... no pictures... we are looking forward to positive changes there next year!) Jaycie received awards for Straight A's All Year... Highest Math Average in her class... highest AR/RR points in her class... and she received the Citizenship Award for her class!

And last but not least... preschool graduation. Jessica & Jaycie's preschool in NC did not do a graduation ceremony... so this was our first and last preschool graduation! They sang songs and received their diplomas. They practiced for so long and did SO well! Kindergarten... HERE WE COME!
